DreamWorks Voltron VR Chronicles is a VR action game released to tie in to Netflix's Voltron: Legendary Defender animated series. In this game, you play as Lance, one of the five heroes who pilot the robotic lions that make up Voltron.
Like entering a cartoon
As befits a tie-in to an animated series, Voltron VR Chronicles has very polished art and graphics, with a cel-shaded style that really feels like you're stepping into the animated series. The gameplay consists of a combination of puzzle-solving and rail shooter sections in which you control Lance's robot lion in battle against enemy spaceships. The one real oversight is that, despite this being a Voltron game, you don't get to play as Voltron in it. It's also not very long, with an average playthrough clocking in at maybe 30 minutes.
A simple but enjoyable game
Voltron VR Chronicles does disappoint in that you don't get to play as the giant robot defender. And, like many VR shooters, it offers limited player choice. The real upside is the immersive world it creates through its use of cartoon-accurate graphics and voices. This is more of an experience than a game; if you're OK with that, it can be very enjoyable.
